Have you ever needed to just try some code and not had time or desire to wait for IT operations to get an environment set up?
Microsoft Azure and PowerShell can help. Please note, circumvention of IT policies is not a good plan… may get you in trouble and is not something I will admit to showing off ;)
With a little PowerShell, a json file, and an Azure account (even the trial ones) you too can have a VM running Windows 2016 and IIS in about 30 minutes.*
*not included… json file building and other ancillary items
In this session, Derek will walk through a general overview of PowerShell Desired State configuration and the New-AzureRMresourcegroupdeployment cmdlet allowing PowerShell to build VMs in Azure.
Derek is a network administrator in Green Bay, Wisconsin officially. He also creates content for TechRepublic.com and does his best to help out in the IT community at Experts-Exchange.com when time allows. He enjoys working with computers and helping others around him to understand technology. He says, “It is fun to provide knowledge to those around me and help them grow in some way.” Derek is a Microsoft MVP and active in the Microsoft communities.
